Lime Cucumber {open}

Another Gatorade down.

Another person healed!

June frowned at the growing pile of sports drinks at the nearby trashcan. There was only so much 'Glacier Freeze' Gatorade she could tolerate. She might ask to leave in order to get a different type. Fruit punch was a classic, but she quite liked lime cucumber. But, she hasn't been able to find any lime cucumber since she moved to Beata. Tragic. June tapped a pen, wondering how much she would have to spend in order to have some shipped in, when the soft chime of the door being open caused her to look up from her Gatorade fueled daydreams.

Aster limped into the Infirmary guided mainly by his left foot. The memory was currently fresh in his mind. He was just walking down some stairs, then right at the last step his foot went on it's side. Aster held onto the railing, so he didn't fall, but he's pretty sure he tore a ligament in his ankle.

When he looked around, he could see a pile of empty gatorade bottles peaking out of a trash can. He then noticed a girl sitting in a chair nearby. Seeing as nobody else was there, he slowly approached, without saying anything, as he wasn't sure what to say.

Percy stepped into the infirmary behind the boy, who had been following since he heard the fall to be sure that he was okay. He had been swimming in the pools that had been nearby so his hair is still dripping wet, but the rest of his body seemed oddly dry. He saw the girl behind the desk, seemingly piled with Gatorade bottles. He felt bad that he had never announced himself to Aster, but he wasn't exactly the outgoing type, especially when he felt out of his element (quite literally). So, instead of taking this opportunity to address his behavior, he remained silent near the door of the room.

The pen hovered over the paper where it had been tapped prior, soft eyes lingered over the two figures who stepped in. Assuming she wouldn't be able to talk with them, she shyly waved, hand only moving slightly, before gesturing to Aster.

She stood up and approached him, noting he wouldn't put pressure on his foot. Cautiously, the girl pointed to his foot, then looked up at him as if for confirmation. Who knows? One person came in before with a broken leg (that was already treated) but just wanted some crackers because their stomach was feeling queasy. It was always better to ask.

Aster stopped limping forward as the girl stood up and approached them. He silently waved back. After the girl gestured towards him and pointed down at his foot, before looking at him expectantly, it took a moment for him to put 2 and 2 together. He then leaned a bit over and pointed towards his right ankle, not touching it because doing so would cause stabbing pains, then nodded "yes".

He then stood back up straight, before glancing behind him to see a boy behind him. Was he following him? Or was he just another patient? He didn't say anything to the boy and just turned back towards the girl.

"Sorry to intrude but I was just making sure that he could get to the infirmary okay," he said to the girl, stepping a bit further into the room. "I hope you don't find that weird." Percy ran his hands through his still dripping hair as a nervous habit. Drops of water flung themselves onto the floor around him, something he quickly took care of by grabbing them with his gift and deposited them into a sink nearby (it's perfectly plausible that an infirmary would have a sink rite?).

June sheepishly gives Percy a nod, then a slight smile and shook her head. She would love to explain that, no, it isn't weird. It was actually rather nice of him to do that for a stranger. Bringing Aster to the bed, she motioned for him to sit down, all the while nodding for Percy to have a seat nearby.

Gingerly, she began feeling along his ankle, wincing at how swollen it was. Surely it must hurt. She began to image the tear in her mind. Something like this would mean surgery if they were anywhere else. But, they were here. With her. She would do her best to keep them from needing a two month recovery time.

Beginning her slow work, June started near the top of the tear. Offering Aster a slight smile, she turned her attention to the slight glowing of her hand. She was told that it itched before, itching more depending on how bad it was.

Aster sat down on the bed as June gestured for him to. He thought that Percy following him without saying anything was... slightly creepy. Then again, the guy was just making sure Aster was alright, so he guess that he can't blame him. That thought was soon utterly drowned out by the sharp pains in his ankle as June felt around at it. His jaw clenched and he had to resist the impulse to retract his leg, knowing that wouldn't do either of them any good.
He could feel a strange itching and tingling sensation in his ankle. The feeling was somewhat intense. Oh well, it was better than stabbing pains. Seeing June's slight smile made that pain much more bearable. Was it his own gift acting up? Or was it simply a positive vibe? It didn't really matter to him honestly, he was just thinking about things to distract himself from his ankle.

Percy moved to the seat nearest to where he had been standing. As Aster sat on the bed and June began feeling around the ankle, he was curiously watching the girl do her work. It seemed like after prodding the injury, she just had a hand hovering over it, nothing actually happening. So her gift must be a healing one, which makes sense that she works in the infirmary. He loved seeing other people's gifts at work, even if it was just hands hovering over a wound.

It took June longer than what she would have liked to fix the ankle. She did the best she could, accounting for future growth when rebuilding the muscles. Once she was certain she was done, the girl stood up. With a hand on a chair, she regained her balance after a pulse of a light-headed feeling. She lingered there for a long moment, then slowly moved to the freezer where they kept ice packs.

Aster's ankle would be slightly swollen and sore from being healed so fast, but it was better than the alternatives. She wrote a note down for him to see, informing him as such, also making sure to ask how he came to have the injury.

Aster let out a small sigh of relief as the healing process was finished. It still felt a bit sore, but it was way better than causing shooting and stabbing pain whenever it was looked at funny. He felt a bit guilty as June grew light headed and had to hold an ice pack. 'It's just gift feedback... Every gifted person has it...' he thought to himself. For him, he'd get a headache when someone gets too excited... literally. It's a bit of an overload when he detects a very powerful emotion.

He stared at the ground cautiously for a moment before he set his right foot on the ground. As it touched the ground, his ankle had a small pulsating pain, but nowhere as severe as before it was healed. He then let his newly healed foot hover a bit above the ground in order to ease that light pain. After June handed him the note, he quickly read over it. It seemed reasonable, he didn't really expect his ankle too be good as new instantly. He then noticed the part where June asked how he injured it. He thought about it for a moment, searching for the words to form a simplified explanation, before writing down "Walking down a stairway, then slipping at the last step and landing on the ankle awkwardly"

Percy watched curiously as the two held their silent exchange, wondering what the note said. "How's it feel?" he asked, clearly overstepping the boundaries of someone whose name he didn't even know. His concern for others' health overruled his idea of social standing.
