Judith bit down on her lip, the static white noise of her phone ringing through her ears. Stupid signal, stupid Beata, stupid, stupid--Outside the fact that she was allowed to call her surrogate father, access to the remaining world was void. Sagging terribly with supplies hanging on its hinges at jaunty angles, the store was more of a rotting heap of trash or a poorly-managed museum. Dingy. What the hell was this? A wannabe Harry Potter? The witch's house from Brave?
Judith marched toward the shelves, the long leash of red drooping through her fingers. Fish treats... Cats... Rabbits... Birds.. Dogs. These brands were awful; she never even heard of some of them (it must be a Gifted thing). She was supposed to feed Lucifer with these stale and thin biscuits that looked like they were going to crumble at any second?
Her cameras snapped a few photos. Another exasperated sigh. "This is really pathetic."
