The Winter Formal is Beata Academy's annual year-end dance in the Grand Hall. Students come together for a night together filled with live music, ice sculptures, and synthetic snowflakes. For over thirty years, students had a tradition of spiking the punch, resulting in at least one pregnancy and several fights. This has resulted in the punch being replaced with a heavily guarded mocktail bar. It remains to be seen how the students will overcome this.
A Winter King and Winter Queen are voted from among the students midway through the night and traditionally dance together. The Winter Queen is crowned with a precious
sapphire diadem.
"Informals" are usually private dances or parties held on the same night, for all the people who hate formal dances.
Liberi Academy has its own Winter Formal that elects a Prince and Princess, if you can get over the cooties.
