Space Heater has Arrived [Open]

He could feel it. Honestly it was a bit awkward, having solar energy rippling under his skin. It was apart of him, something that he couldn't change. Something that was a constant in his life recently. Occasionally he would have to expel the energy somehow but it was rare, and the only way to ignore the feeling was to distract himself.

Cayde stepped into the arcade, pulling down his sleeves to hide the light that seemed to shine a bit from under his skin. The place was a bit cheesy, but that is how arcades were supposed to look. The old 90's looking floor. The ticket counter.. It brought a comforting feeling even if he had never been here before. The Winter approached the counter and exchanged some of his money for some coins before going to one of the classic arcade games. They called it the largest pac-man game but he doubted that was true. The big screen was enough to distract him, the loud sounds were great too. It was perfect.

Another solar student strolled through the doors, waving at the worker behind the counter who waved back. He had been coming here since he was a kid, Shepard would be mildly shocked that workers wouldn't recognize him from his rather loud group of friends. The blond sought out his favorite game, the first week of school was just as tiring as he expected. However, the certain game was occupied. Frowning, Shepard watched from behind, mildly impressed with how far the other student had gotten on it. "You are actually really far into the game. Not everyone gets that far." Shepard slid into the seat next to him, facing towards him and watching Cayde play. The bright lights from the game reflected in his eyes.

Morgan had never been in a place like this, looking around with a sense of awe at all the brightly colored screens. For the most part back home, he wouldn't go out other than with his parents. Never a very social child, all this new freedom of where to go was...Exciting yet every terrifying, mostly for somebody who had never been so far from his parents before. He sipped on a soda, sitting at a table nearby as he watched people play the different arcade games from afar. His eyes kept sliding to a Pac-Man arcade machine, trying to make out what he could at his distance. It wasn't until another kid - one who look...Familiar for some reason, walked up that he started to think about heading over there himself.

He wasn't eager about it, he hated new people but his parents had stressed about making new friends. It was important and would be good for him...And so seeing somebody he thought as familiar - honestly he looked liked Headmaster Leo now that Morgan thought about it - started to raise up with little courage he had. He sat there, sipping at his drink until he finally sighed to himself and pushed away from the table. He could do this, he could totally do this...Just...Find an common interest! As he slowly approached, his grip on his drink increasing with every step, his eyes kept flickering toward the game as he tried to work out what to say.

That was unsure he saw that level the boy who was playing was at and heard the comment from the other teen. "Whoa, you are pretty far!" he gasped, the slightest flicker of blue flames from his mouth hinting at how nervous he truly was. He lingered between the two seats, standing a bit away that he could talk if needed but not really intruding. His fingers tapped the side of his drink as he held it to the chest, taking a nervous sip as he continued to watch the arcade game.

Eyes flicked over to the others as they had appeared. He hadn't been really paying that much attention to how far he progressed through the game, just trying to finish the levels as they got increasingly difficult. "Thanks." Cayde said to the other two complimenting on his skill. The teen kept going for another level or two before the ghosts were just out playing his every move. It was unfortunate, but expected. Maybe one day he would be able to achieve the highest score every but that day wasn't today.

He sat back for a moment stretching a bit from sitting for so long before turning partially towards the other two. "Do one of you two want to give it a shot?" He asked, a part of the light from his skin on his hands catching his eye. He could feel the solar energy rippling up on his face. Being near people really sparked the energies activity.

Blue eyes caught sight of the solar energy surging across the other student's face. Blue eyes focused on it for a long moment, before answering with a grin. "Why don't you go ahead and try, buddy?" Shepard offered to Morgan, nodding at the game. He definitely wouldn't tell them he had the highest score. Besides, it was interesting to watch the playing styles of other players. Hell, it might help him improve.

Turning his eyes to Cayde, Shepard casually reached out his hand and manipulated a bit of the energy coming off of the other student. "Huh." He pulled his hand back, taking the dime-sized portion of energy, and morphing it into a tiny star, more heat radiating off of it than usual, light almost too bright to look at. "Solar Manipulation?" He questioned, rolling the miniature star over his fingers, and letting it vanish as soon as he was tired of it.

Morgan was about to offer the now open gaming spot to the older boy, as he had never honestly played any Pac-Man games. He roughly knew about it, enough to recognize when somebody got far, but he was always more of a platformer type whenever he had gotten to play...And this was his first time at an arcade to boot. He shifted nervously in the spot, glancing down at his drink for a second. He...He didn't want to be rude. "A-Alright," he finally said, somewhat bravely sliding into the seat Cayde had opened up. He was about to hit what he assumed was the start button when suddenly light catch his attention.

He turned, craning his neck to look and quickly regretted it as it caused him to squint against the almost painful light. It looked like...Like...The sun! He was in awe, being mindful not to stare directly at it but it was still something amazing. As it soon faded, Morgan let out a soft gasp, clasping his hands together. "That...That was awesome! I've never seen anything like that!" he cooed in pure awe, his gaze flickering between the two boys.
