A thirteen-year-old girl in a barely-recognizable uniform was exiting the studio, seeming profoundly disappointed. Whatever it was that had occurred there was likely best left forgotten, given the state Stella was in at present: paint in every color of the rainbow streaked her clothes and some of her skin, her hair was in complete and utter disarray, and the ribbon she had tied it with that morning was no longer a pristine white and instead wrapped around her wrist, covered in red and blue and green. In addition, she was covered from head to toe in glitter, visibly sparkling in the light. She didn't seem to notice or mind any of that, though. Instead she headed out of the studio, not-so-quietly lamenting the loss of the second white ribbon that week and the fact that she'd need to get some more soon, but mostly lamenting her failed project. "It didn't work this time, either..."
Failure, however, was no reason to stop working on things. It was, she felt, the most important (and usually fun) part of the process. "Maybe if I used more glitter? Or different colors! Glitter paint? But that didn't work the first time, should I wait longer before trying it again?" So absorbed in her own thoughts, she didn't realize as she narrowly avoided walking into a wall and failed to avoid colliding with another student. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, but then she wasn't normally covered in glitter and wet paint (one or the other was common enough, but not both at the same time).
