The Halloween Harvest Opening!! [Site Topic]

It was one of the best days in the year. The air was chilly, and the moon was full of silver light that illuminated the streets of children in various costumes, all on their way to the Halloween Harvest--Free tickets for kids who come in costume. What better way to spend the spookiest night of the year than with friends and so much funnel cake and candy you were bound to puke?

A student dressed as spiderman stood near the entrance, his unity link was up, and was typing away sending messages out to his friends to let them know where he was. Shepard closed the app and looked up through the mesh holes in his mask to watch the ongoing fun of the festival. The bright light filled the air, and squeals of delight were the theme of the night.

Eyes falling to his unity link, Shepard sent another message: where yall at?

Beecher was loving his costume. Haircolor spray was used on his normally white fur on his tail and ears to make it appear like a fox. He wore an orange sweatshirt and orange pants, with black boots. Just enough for people to get the jist. Blue eyes lingered over the many pumpkins ready to be carved. What would he do this year?

Every day was Halloween for Esther. She'd been prepping for October all the way back in the dying days of August, exploring thrift store jungles and many late nights pinning "inspo" boards to her Esper feed. Now that the day was already here, she could hardly control herself. She'd gotten up early for the last minute tweaks and cuts and adjustments, and endured three hours in front of the mirror to make sure her costume reflected the macabre picture she'd been constructing in her head.

Convincing sticky red brush-strokes slashed up her cheeks, splotched with pink and black and green rot. A pencil was stabbed straight up one nostril, puncturing the septum and pushing clean out toward the other side, the lead tip pressed up near her eyeball. Or at least, it seemed that way. She'd broken it in half, wrapped the ends in tissue and  flesh-colored putty wax to keep them in place, and then painted the blood over. She still relished in the way people's heads snapped when she stalked past. Esther had hit the festival early, but instead of the rides, she'd been hunting small packs of Liberi students instead, sometimes tracking them for five to ten minutes in dead silence before bursting into their midst, like a dog through a flock of pigeons, and laughing hysterically as they scattered away from her, screaming their heads off.

Best. Night. Ever.

Cailin was not too old to trick-or-treat. You were never too old. That's what dad said, and she took dad's word for it over anybody else's, because the alternative was not getting a pillow sack full of candy each year. But returns were getting lower and lower every year. People liked 8 year olds; they didn't like high schoolers.  She chewed on the end of a Tootsie Roll like it was a cigar butt, wandering through the crowds in a Pikachu onesie, ruminating over the scant harvest. A lot of hard candy and Whoppers, all the stuff inevitably left in the bowl when the rest got cleaned out. There was rarely a Halloween where she didn't go as Pikachu; a few times, she'd broken out of her comfort zone and went as a Pokémon trainer. That was as adventurous as she got, because a Pikachu or a Pokémon trainer was all she wanted to be when she grew up. Now she wasn't so sure.

Of course, Halloween wasn't much for Vonninfin in his younger years. He was never allowed to go outside during Halloween, or give out candy, but,He still could snack on candy during that lonely night. Now that he was away from his home, on his own, on a seasional event he'd never truely *known*, he decided to check the outside out. He did look into this event, picking out an outfit that fit the halloween event, which included a black jacket, a bright orange undershirt, black pants, and shoes, with purple socks. He also had two small devil horns ontop his head, cheap headwear he could easily afford. He felt like he was able to fit in, atleast a slight bit with the costume of his.He didn't focus on the occuring crowd. He stood at the enterance, alone as he was "behind" the crowd, blankly staring at his unity link.

Stephen's unity link buzzed on his wrist as he walked towards the festival. He already knew it was Shepard so he didn't bother checking it. He could already see the bright red Spider-Man suit from where he stood, so it wouldn't be that big of a deal. Stephen himself was also wearing a Spider-Man costume, however, his was from the hit PlayStation 4 exclusive game of the same name. He even wore silly string web shooters on his wrist, designed to look the same as the shooters from most Spider-Man comics. Oh, technology, how far it has come. He walked up to Stephen and did the Thing. He stood a short distance in front of him and pointed. "It's time" he said excitedly.
