Anguis walked along a makeshift trail, a path of dirt padded down by hundreds of feet that walked along here before. It cut through the woods to the calm lake. Everything was calm, everything was still, in order. It was a nice place to relax and gather his thoughts. At last, the sunset-reflected water peered through the trees and bushes. As he pushed away some branches, he saw a korean-looking guy sitting in the sand with a bottle. 'He does not look old enough for that...' he thought to himself.
He felt a soft and unexplained lament as he heard the student speak to nobody. He usually couldn't care less about another's problems, but he seemed really concerned about this guy. And it wasn't just because of the underaged drinking. He seemed like he was hurting somehow. Staring off a bit to the side, he debated on whether or not he should say anything to him. On one hand, he seemed to want to be left alone. On the other hand, a highschool aged student alone on a shore drinking alcohol is never a good thing. He decided, despite the gnawing doubt, to go talk to the guy. He slowly stepped close to him until he was a couple feet away from the guy he was now staring at. "Uh, hey..." he was about to ask if he was okay, but the answer was pretty obvious, small talk first would probably be better, "The sunset is beautiful tonight, isn't it?". He looked away from the guy and towards the sunset. He wasn't really wrong. The way the bright and warm red blended with the dark blue sky so flawlessly, combined with the lightly distorted reflection in the lake, was really aesthetically pleasing. Even so, the light smell of alcohol and the vibe this guy gave off wasn't easy to ignore.
