Brief Description of Gifts:
Time Theft - Similar to Life Force Absorption, Time Theft is the ability to steal or give ‘time’ to others. In other news, Adeline is able to heal or reverse wounds by giving more time, cause rapid (de)aging by taking/giving time, have a general feeling of when someone will die, and increase a person’s life-span. Her gift extends to reducing or accelerating someone’s sense of time (while they still move normally) and stealing/receiving other people’s strength. She has to use herself as a middleman to transfer between two living things that don’t include herself; it is impossible to transfer time from a tree to a dog without first transferring to herself first. Her own time can be given to others as well. Currently, her life clock reads to roughly 17 years and 9 months.

Notes:

For the most part, Adeline rarely ever uses her gift now. If she does, it’s to heal wounds that the children at the Daycare have gotten or to heal withering plants. There were occasions where she used her powers to alleviate fevers and sickness, but she makes sure to replenish her time by taking some from the surrounding trees. She feels slightly guilty about making leaves fall earlier or ruining the plant cycle, so she mostly refrains from using her gift (and is generally happier without it).
As of current, she is one of the higher ranking members in the Tempo family due to a devastating event initiated by Agrona’s Force that eliminated most of her relatives (one in which Mason was involved in the operation); this is in spite of the fact that she was generally looked down upon because her mother was someone that wasn’t gifted, leading the family to shun her. Because of her rank, she needs to keep her last name and the hyphen is there as a compromise.
Her eye color being gold is a result of her gift. Naturally, it’s violet, but the gold is another physical indicator of how much energy or time she has left. They become violet if her time clock falls below 5 years and the intensity of the gold varies depending on how much time she has left.
Though she is trained in self-defense, Adeline thinks of herself as someone not very suited for combat. She’ll be an occasion sparring partner and to practice so that she doesn’t fall out of form, but her clumsiness has proven to leave her slightly ineffective. Otherwise, she would’ve joined Mason as a guardian.
She no longer answers to the name Lamia. If anyone uses it, she will either not respond or gently correct them. Her official certificates when she moved to America originally had ‘Lamia’ as her first name; it’s been about a decade since she changed it to her actual name ‘Adeline,’ with coaxing from her brother and Mason.
Chat often follows her around and accompanies her, especially when Mason is away from home. He was a gift from her brother for a recent wedding anniversary. Adeline takes Chat to the daycare with her to play with the children and also as a therapy pet.
